Your role
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for overseeing product development lifecycle management (PDLM) subprojects, defining production-related requirements, updating quality control plans, providing factory input, implementing factory and product design changes, enhancing manufacturing processes, and optimizing Capex strategies independently with limited supervision. The role defines production-related Manufacturing requirements in PDLM, ensures alignment with production needs and facilitates smooth transitions from product design to production stages. The role reviews quality control plans and work instructions and ensures adherence to quality standards and compliance with safety, regulatory, and legal requirements within the manufacturing department. The role provides advanced technical support to production personnel to troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve production bottlenecks in a timely manner, leveraging knowledge of PLC programming and industrial automation systems.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the catcher of Product Development Lifecycle Management (PDLM) subprojects from the Product Industrialization Engineer, focusing on a specific technology within manufacturing operations, ensuring seamless coordination and execution throughout the product development and launch process.
- Defines production related Manufacturing requirements in PDLM, ensures alignment with production needs and facilitates smooth transitions from product design to production stages, thereby enhancing efficiency and quality control throughout the manufacturing process.
- Reviews and updates quality control plan and work instructions and maintains adherence to embedded quality standards, including compliance with safety, regulatory, environmental, and legal requirements, as well as company General Business principles and other relevant policies.
- Ensures precise installation of equipment and provides advanced support during the ramp-up phase of specific processes at the site, ensuring seamless integration of new machinery and facilitating the transition to full-scale production while adhering to quality and safety standards.
- Provides advanced input from the factory perspective during the sign-off at the SR milestone and project closure, ensuring that manufacturing considerations are adequately addressed and contributing to the successful completion of the project with a focus on quality, efficiency, and adherence to manufacturing standards and requirements.
- Ensures design changes are implemented throughout the lifecycle management process (LCM) to improve product functionality, efficiency, and quality, ensuring seamless integration and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implements enhancements in manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment to drive quality and efficiency improvements, and monitors the performance of processes, tools, and equipment following project handover, ensuring seamless continuity and addressing any operational challenges that arise.
- Applies lean manufacturing principles, employing methodologies to streamline production processes, minimize waste, optimize resource utilization, and enhance overall efficiency within the manufacturing environment.
- Ensures the implementation of Capex optimization initiatives for recurring investments in manufacturing processes, aiming to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall productivity.
- Ensures the procurement and installation of recurring equipment at the site, ensuring seamless integration into manufacturing processes and adherence to quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Sciences, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing/operations, engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Production Engineering, or Cost Engineering or related sectors.
- Experience in project development and execution, as well as process development and improvement.
- Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 management systems, ISO 13485 preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English both verbal and written.
- Agile and adaptable, with strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
