Qualifications

About the role

PT China Construction Yangtze River Indonesia is seeking a Mandarin Translator to join our administrative and support team on a full-time basis. This position is based in West Cikarang, West Java and represents a key role in facilitating effective communication between our Chinese and Indonesian operations. As Mandarin Translator, you will play a vital part in supporting seamless interaction across language barriers, ensuring that critical business information, documentation, and communications are accurately conveyed to all stakeholders. This role is essential to maintaining strong relationships with our Chinese partners and ensuring the smooth operation of our construction projects.

Key responsibilities

Translating technical and business documents from Mandarin Chinese to Indonesian and vice versa, including project specifications, contracts, and correspondence

Providing real-time interpretation during meetings, negotiations, and site visits between Chinese and Indonesian staff members

Ensuring accuracy and cultural appropriateness of all translated materials to maintain professional standards

Assisting with the preparation of translated reports, presentations, and administrative documentation

Supporting communication between project management teams and Chinese construction partners

Maintaining confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive business and technical information

Liaising with various departments to clarify terminology and ensure contextual accuracy of translations

Performing administrative support tasks as required to assist the operations team

What we're looking for

Fluent proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and Indonesian, with excellent written and spoken communication skills in both languages

Professional experience in translation or interpretation, preferably within a construction, engineering, or international business environment

Strong understanding of technical and business terminology in the construction industry

Ability to work accurately under time constraints and manage multiple translation tasks simultaneously

Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards

Cultural awareness and sensitivity to facilitate effective cross-cultural communication

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with translation tools is advantageous
