Job description

We’re not looking for a typical maintenance engineer, we’re looking for someone who thrives on challenges, innovation, and the pursuit of operational perfection.

At Karya Bahana Unigam, everything we do drives the future of Indonesian auto manufacturing. Your mission is to keep our machines running at peak performance while leading the evolution from analog maintenance to the digital frontier of Industry 4.0.

This isn’t a passive, routine role. It’s a position for engineers who think like innovators, who analyse like scientists, and who act like problem-solvers with a purpose.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, plan, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for stamping and welding machinery.
  • React fast to unexpected failures, lead hands‑on troubleshooting and drive the plant back to full power.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to ensure every machine runs at its highest potential.
  • Initiate and lead continuous improvement projects to boost reliability, efficiency, and performance.
  • Track, document, and analyze all maintenance activities, using data to uncover trends and opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed, insight‑driven reports for management reviews, not just numbers, but stories behind the data.
  • Lead root cause analyses (RCA) and implement durable corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Supervise contractors and vendors to ensure work quality and safety standards are never compromised.
  • Drive and support digital transformation initiatives, transitioning maintenance operations from analog to smart, connected systems.
  • Challenge the status quo, bring fresh ideas, and push the boundaries of what maintenance can be.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in automotive or metalworking industries (preferred).
  • Fresh graduates with courage and curiosity to take on real engineering challenges are welcome.
  • Solid understanding of stamping presses, welding machines, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and automation controls.
  • Experience in project‑based maintenance such as new machine installations or retrofitting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with TPM, 5S, and CMMS systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, logical, and creative problem‑solving skills.
  • Confident communicator who can turn technical insights into actionable management reports.
  • A proactive mindset aligned with Industry 4.0, eager to transform processes and implement smart solutions.
  • Ability to perform in a high‑pressure work environment physically and mentally.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Machine uptime and availability.
  • Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
  • Preventive maintenance completion rate.
  • Maintenance cost efficiency.
  • Innovation and improvement project impact.
  • Quality of maintenance analytics and reporting.
  • Safety and compliance excellence.
