Job Overview

KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Project Permitting Lead to support the Abadi LNG project, one of the largest projects in Asia. This project will provide front‑end design (FEED) for onshore liquefied natural gas facilities & will have a peak production capacity targets of 9.5 million tons per annum of LNG and 150 million standard cubic feet per day of pipeline gas. The Abadi LNG project has been designated a project of national strategic importance by the Indonesian government.

The Project Permitting Lead will provide support for the Abadi Project with permitting and regulatory requirements. This role will engage government agencies to ensure compliance with local and international oil and gas standards. In addition, this role will serve as a liaison between all project teams in order to oversee and report all non‑compliance with project requirements, help project with permit and regulatory compliance needs, & keep the project abreast of the latest rules, regulations, & guidelines that will govern the project’s activities.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities in adhering with the regulatory requirements, permits and approvals to fast-track project work and prevent procedural delays
  • Ensure proper permitting procedures are followed towards obtention of the permits and approvals from relevant institutions
  • Organize and track all project permits and ensure compliance with project permit conditions
  • Guide the project with paperwork record keeping of the permits obtained
  • Use compliance assurance tool to capture permits obligations and manage expirations and renewals and coordinate with the contractors as soon as applicable
  • Work closely with the project teams to advise on the local and compliance requirements
  • Organize the regulatory procedures and technical requirements to be submitted for future operation license applications
  • Coordinate project relation with external entities by supporting Compliance team
  • Ensure that all the project regulatory requirements to be fulfilled before starting the construction are resolved before initiating any construction activities
  • Support all regulatory, statutory, and permitting activities in relation to construction matters
  • Ensure the project construction activities comply with the provisions of regulations, rules and all other applicable laws and standards
  • Draft communications and correspondences to external agencies
  • Ensure project construction approvals and permits are available on time to avoid project delays, adhere to the project's planned schedule, and ensure compliance with local rules, regulations, shareholder and governmental agreements, and standards relevant to project activities project implementation in compliance with requirements in construction deliverables and site activities
  • Participate in project meetings with partners, authorities and other stakeholders as required
