Job Overview:


The Lead Engineer at Noahtu Shipyard will be responsible for providing technical leadership, guidance, and oversight to engineering teams involved in shipbuilding, repair, and retrofitting projects. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, ensuring adherence to design standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement in engineering processes and methodologies.
  2. Project Planning and Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and clients to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables. Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensure alignment with organizational goals and client expectations.
  3. Engineering Design and Analysis: Lead engineering design and analysis activities, including concept development, detailed design, and structural analysis. Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications to ensure compliance with technical requirements and quality standards.
  4. Risk Management: Identify potential risks, technical challenges, and project constraints early in the project lifecycle. Develop risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and alternative solutions to address unforeseen issues and maintain project momentum.
  5. Resource Allocation and Management: Allocate engineering resources effectively to support project requirements and priorities. Monitor resource utilization, productivity, and performance to optimize team efficiency and project outcomes.
  6. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Establish and enforce quality assurance processes and procedures to maintain high standards of engineering excellence and regulatory compliance. Conduct regular reviews, audits, and inspections to assess engineering deliverables and identify areas for improvement.
  7. Client Interaction and Relationship Management: Engage with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to understand their needs, address concerns, and foster positive relationships. Communicate project status, milestones, and technical updates effectively to ensure client satisfaction and project success.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Naval Architecture, or related field). Advanced degree or professional certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience in engineering leadership roles, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the maritime or shipbuilding industry.
  • Strong technical expertise in ship design, marine systems, structural analysis, and naval architecture.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., CAD, FEA, CFD) and project management applications.
