PUR Description

PUR is a global, impact‑focused B‑Corp specializing in supply chain sustainability. We design, develop, and implement nature‑based solutions projects to help our corporate partners reduce their environmental footprint and meet their ESG targets. Many of PUR's projects fall within the categories of insetting, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, forest conservation, and landscape restoration.

These projects aim to introduce more sustainable agricultural practices, regenerate and preserve ecosystems, and socially and economically empower local communities. Today, we employ 200 staff across 16 countries, with key offices in Paris (HQ) and Toronto.

Industry Description

PUR operates within the dynamic and rapidly evolving sector of environmental consultancy services and nature‑based solutions (NbS) markets. The NbS market has recently gained traction as society recognizes the invaluable services provided by nature and the need to preserve, restore and harness these services to mitigate and adapt to environmental challenges. To be considered a nature‑based solution, projects must address real societal challenges and offer strong environmental, economic and social benefits for local communities.

Market KPIs: If combined with deep decarbonisation efforts, NbS projects could provide up to 30% of the mitigation needed to limit global warming to 1.5ºC above pre‑industrial levels by 2030 (World Economic Forum, 2023) NbS project credits make up the largest volumes of carbon credits available in the VCM (voluntary carbon markets ) with $9bn invested between 2020 and 2022 (Sylvera, 2023) 5,307 companies have set science‑based targets - a 4.2x increase since 2022 – and a significant driver of demand within the NbS and VCM markets (SBTi, 2024)

Role Description

The Lead Data Analyst will help us define data pipelines and architecture alongside the Data Engineers and also use our data to get insights on our Nature/Technology Based Solutions (NBS/TBS), focusing on providing an increase in Data Quality for the collected data and identifying patterns to reach data‑driven decisions on company level, synthesizing the work done on dashboards that can be leveraged to help the acceleration of PUR's growth. You will have to ensure that our data stack captures, stores, and processes field reality in the best possible way. Your focus will be to build and release the tools used by all teams, the Executive Committee, and some external stakeholders, to make data‑informed decisions, and find out the best way to provide and facilitate insights.

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Do exploratory/causal analysis of the data we collect to find correlations and trends and transform them into methodologies
  • Provide insights into planting and project effectiveness and create visualizations for the data
  • Gather secondary data that might be relevant for the exploratory analysis; communicate when this data provides good insight so it can be integrated into the data platform
  • Suggest recommendations to improve field data collection and overall data quality based on analytical insights and investigation
  • Define, with the support of the Central Data Team, NBS performance indicators, sharing strategic and tactical recommendations
  • Conduct planning and work sprints following Agile and Scrum methodologies, managing and prioritizing Project Team requests in harmony with the Central Data Team
  • Mentoring and supporting the team's career development, helping them grow technically, training the regional Data Team on Data Analysis topics and acting as a link between Central Data and the Asian Regional Project Team
  • Communicate with Data Team members in other regions proactively to find common needs between regions and synergies
  • Provide training in the field (rarely: 1‑2x a year max) to our technicians and data collectors
Job Requirements
