Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in Australia is seeking a Senior Engineer, Bridge and Civil Structures to lead structural design across major infrastructure projects in the APAC region.

You will manage multidisciplinary teams, mentor juniors, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions for clients. The role involves leading design activities for bridges, retaining walls, tunnels and other civil structures, with a focus on first-principles analysis and adherence to applicable standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in structural engineering design.
• Experience in design/assessment of bridges, retaining walls, culverts, tunnels and gantry structures.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to undertake independent hand calculations and first-principles assessments.
• Fundamental drafting and engineering sketching for coordination and communication purposes.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural analysis and design of bridge and civil infrastructure projects.
• Deliver design packages for reinforced concrete, steel, and civil structures from concept through to detailed design.
• Coordinate and review the work of engineers, designers, and drafters to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Prepare technical reports, design calculations, specifications, sketches, and engineering documentation.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and technical excellence within the business.
