Job description

As a Junior Coal Trader, you will play a vital role in expanding the company's trading network and ensuring smooth transactions with international buyers. This position is best suited for someone who already has strong connections with coal end-users, and is eager to grow within the global trading industry. You will be actively involved in building client relationships, supporting trading activities, and driving business opportunities in a highly dynamic market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain direct relationships with international buyers or end-users, e.g.power plants in Korea and Japan.
  • Support senior traders in executing coal sales and purchase transactions, including contract negotiation, pricing, and delivery coordination.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities, track coal demand trends, and monitor competitor activities.
  • Ensure smooth end-to-end trading operations, including documentation, shipment scheduling, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate closely with logistics, finance, and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of trade deals.
  • Build long-term client trust by providing excellent communication and after-sales support.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, International Trade, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in coal trading, sales, or business development, ideally with exposure to power plant clients in Korea or Japan.
  • Must have existing buyer or end-user network.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English; proficiency in Japanese or Korean is a strong plus.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • Willing to travel for business trips as needed.
