Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Junior Field Service Engineer – Control/Electrical to join our on-site field engineering team in Indonesia. You will lead installation and maintenance activities, troubleshoot issues, and act as the on-site expert, advancing knowledge to deliver innovative solutions for customers.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering (electrical/electronics preferred), 1–3 years in oil & gas or rotating equipment, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with major in electrical or electronics instrumentation preferred.
• Previous oil & gas experience or rotating equipment 1–3 years preferred.
• Strong customer-service orientation with ability to guide customers through tough decisions.
• Skilled at communicating complex technical information to customers and teams with varying technical levels.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent verbal and written English.
• Willingness to travel up to 70%, including offshore facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction for activities to internal teams and skilled labor to ensure safety, compliance and quality.
• Oversee, overhaul, troubleshoot and commission rotating equipment and products at customer sites.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, plans, daily and weekly briefing reports for customers and internal teams.
• Ensure internal training, compliance and quality documentation is updated and followed per company standards.
• Manage company digital tools to retrieve technical documents and manage packing lists, bill of materials and drawings.

As a Junior Field Service Engineer – Control/Electrical, you will play a vital role onsite with our customers.

Leading the installation/ maintenance activities, you will work with customers to troubleshoot issues and ensure safe and compliant installations. You will be the onsite expert, continually developing your knowledge and skills to deliver innovative solutions.

As a Junior Field Service Engineer – Control/Electrical, you will be responsible for:

• Providing technical direction for activities to internal teams and skilled labor to ensure safety, compliance, and quality.
• Overseeing, overhaul, troubleshooting and commissioning of our rotating equipment’s and products at customer sites.
• Preparing and updating technical documentation, plans, daily and weekly briefing reports for customers and internal cross-functional teams.
• Ensuring internal training, compliance and quality documentation is updated, followed, and completed according to company standards.
• Properly manage company digital tools to retrieve technical documents and management of packing list, bill of material and drawings.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering and major in electrical or electronics instrumentation is preferred
• Previous experience in oil and gas industry or rotating equipment for 1-3 years is preferred
• Display a strong customer service-orientation mindset, experienced leading customers through tough decisions.
• Be skilled at communicating complex technical information to customers and teams with varying levels of technical understanding
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Have excellent verbal and written English.
• Be ready to travel significantly (up to 70%) without geographical restriction, including offshore facilities.
