The IT Head oversees the end-to-end technology strategy, operations, and digital transformation initiatives across the retail organization. This role is responsible for managing IT systems that support retail stores, supply chain, merchandising, finance, and e-commerce channels. The IT Head leads cross-functional teams, ensures system reliability, drives innovation, and aligns technology investments with business goals to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company’s IT strategy to support retail business growth and omnichannel initiatives.
- Oversee daily IT operations, including infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, applications, and store systems (POS, inventory management, CRM, ERP).
- Lead implementation, enhancement, and rollout of enterprise systems such as SAP, POS systems, WMS, and e-commerce platforms.
- Collaborate with business leaders (Retail Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing) to identify technology needs and deliver solutions.
- Ensure system uptime and service availability across all retail stores and warehouses.
- Manage IT governance, data security, and compliance across systems and vendors.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, including automation, analytics, mobile solutions, and cloud migration.
- Lead and mentor IT teams, including application support, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
- Manage IT budgets, vendor relations, procurement, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Oversee project management and ensure successful delivery of IT projects within timeline and budget.
- Provide technology support during store openings, expansions, and system rollouts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles within the retail industry.
- Strong knowledge of retail business processes (POS operations, store systems, merchandising, promotions, inventory, warehousing).
- Hands‑on experience managing retail IT environments, including ERP (SAP preferred), CRM, POS, WMS, and e-commerce platforms.
- Proven experience leading IT operations and project delivery in multi‑store or omni‑channel environments.
- Solid understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex rollouts, tight timelines, and cross‑functional teams.
