Job summary

DVI Solutions is seeking an IoT Project Engineer to support deployment, integration, and commissioning of IoT solutions across on-premises and cloud environments. You will collaborate with project and installation teams to ensure successful IoT sensor deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting at customer sites.

The role requires hands-on experience with sensor configuration, AutoCAD review of technical drawings, and strong knowledge of IoT protocols and APIs for system integration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of IoT implementation, system integration and project engineering.
• Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and commissioning IoT sensors, gateways, and devices.
• Practical experience with sensor configuration across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for reviewing and preparing technical drawings.
• Good understanding of IoT protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, BACnet, TCP/IP, or HTTP.
• Familiarity with APIs and system integration, including REST APIs and data communication between IoT devices and software platforms.
• Strong project coordination and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting mindset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer engagement.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple project activities in a fast-paced environment.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on IoT Project Engineer to support the deployment, integration, and commissioning of IoT solutions.

In this role, you will work closely with project and installation teams to ensure the successful implementation of IoT sensors and devices across on-premises and cloud environments. You will also collaborate with software development teams to facilitate seamless integration with IoT platforms, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure reliable system performance.

The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge of IoT technologies, practical experience in sensor configuration and commissioning, and excellent project coordination skills.

Key Responsibilities

IoT Deployment & Commissioning

• Support the installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of IoT sensors, gateways, and connected devices.
• Work closely with project and installation teams to ensure successful deployment of IoT solutions at customer sites.
• Configure and troubleshoot IoT devices across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Conduct system testing and validation to ensure functionality, connectivity, and performance meet project requirements.
• Provide on-site technical support during deployment, commissioning, and post-installation activities.

System Integration & Technical Troubleshooting

• Collaborate with software development teams to integrate IoT devices and sensors with cloud-based or on-premises platforms.
• Support integration using IoT communication protocols, APIs, and networking technologies.
• Diagnose and resolve issues relating to sensor connectivity, data transmission, device configuration, and platform integration.
• Coordinate with internal technical teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues.
• Ensure reliable data communication between IoT devices, gateways, and software platforms.

Project Engineering & Coordination

• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and installation teams to coordinate IoT implementation activities.
• Review technical drawings, system layouts, and installation requirements using AutoCAD.
• Assist in project planning, resource coordination, scheduling, and progress tracking to ensure timely delivery.
• Participate in site surveys, technical discussions, and project meetings with internal stakeholders and customers.
• Identify potential technical challenges and recommend practical solutions to ensure successful project execution.

Documentation & Quality Assurance

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, installation drawings, commissioning reports, and troubleshooting records.
• Ensure all deployed systems comply with project specifications, technical standards, and customer requirements.
• Support system handover, user training, and post-implementation technical assistance.
• Maintain accurate records of project activities, technical issues, and resolutions.
