Job summary

RGE Pte Ltd is seeking a skilled Instrument Technician to join our Biomass operations in the GCC region. The role focuses on installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems to ensure safe, efficient plant operation.

You will work with transmitters, sensors, valves, analyzers, and PLC/DCS networks, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and document activities while adhering to safety standards. English proficiency required; Arabic a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Instrumentation or related field.
• 3–5 years' experience as Instrument Technician, GCC preferred.
• Experience with process instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level).
• Familiarity with PLC/DCS troubleshooting and field devices.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, calibrate, maintain, and repair instrumentation including transmitters, sensors, control valves, analyzers, and PLC/DCS.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system failures; diagnose and resolve root causes.
• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and loop diagrams.
• Document maintenance activities and test results accurately.
• Adhere to safety regulations and industry standards in hazardous environments.
• Collaborate with operations, electrical, and mechanical teams.
• Participate in commissioning and start-up activities.
• Provide guidance to junior technicians or operators.

RGE Pte Ltd is seeking a skilled and dedicated Instrument Technician to join our team in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region, specializing in Biomass (BM) operations. This role involves the installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of various instrumentation and control systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

Job Responsibilities**

• Install, inspect, calibrate, maintain, and repair a wide range of industrial instrumentation, including transmitters, sensors, control valves, analyzers, and PLC/DCS systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot complex instrumentation and control system failures, diagnose root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and instrument loop diagrams.
• Utilize specialized testing equipment and calibration tools to verify instrument accuracy and functionality.
• Document all maintenance activities, calibration records, and test results accurately and comprehensively.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards, particularly in hazardous environments.
• Collaborate with operations, electrical, and mechanical teams to resolve interdisciplinary issues.
• Participate in commissioning and start-up activities for new equipment and systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians or operators as needed.

Job Qualifications**

• Diploma or equivalent technical qualification in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Instrument Technician, preferably within the GCC region and with exposure to Biomass or similar process industries.
• Strong knowledge of various types of process instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, flow, level, and analytical instruments.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing PLC/DCS systems and their associated field devices.
• Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for instrumentation and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
• Willingness to work in various shift patterns and respond to emergency call‑outs as required.
