Job summary

Anglo Singapore International School is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and academically strong IGCSE Physics Teacher to join our Secondary team at the Sukhumvit 64 campus. You will teach Cambridge IGCSE Physics (0625) and help students develop strong physics understanding, reasoning, and practical lab skills.

The candidate should deliver high-quality lessons, prepare students for Cambridge examinations, and foster scientific thinking, curiosity, and safe lab practices across the physics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Physics Education, or a closely related discipline.
• Recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in Secondary Physics, with significant experience teaching IGCSE Physics.
• Strong and recent experience teaching the Cambridge IGCSE Physics (0625) syllabus.
• Strong understanding of Cambridge assessment requirements, examination preparation, and practical assessment.
• Demonstrated ability to teach Physics concepts effectively and develop students’ problem-solving, analytical, and scientific reasoning skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Physics lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE Physics (0625) syllabus.
• Teach core areas of the syllabus, including: Motion, forces, and energy; Thermal physics; Properties of waves; Electrical quantities and circuits; Magnetism and electromagnetism; Nuclear physics; Space physics.
• Develop students’ scientific knowledge, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and application of Physics concepts.
• Provide opportunities for students to develop strong practical and experimental skills through laboratory activities.
• Prepare students thoroughly for Cambridge IGCSE examinations, including theoretical and practical components.
• Assess, track, and monitor student progress, using assessment data to inform teaching, differentiation, and targeted support.
• Provide effective revision and examination preparation to support strong student outcomes.
• Develop engaging lessons that connect Physics concepts to real-world applications and contemporary scientific developments.
• Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure students follow safe working practices during practical activities.
• Support curriculum planning and contribute to the development of the Physics programme.
• Encourage curiosity, independent learning, and a positive attitude towards Science.
