Job summary

Turner & Townsend is looking for a professional to manage health and safety in construction projects based in Tabang, Sulawesi Selatan, Indonesia. You will be responsible for delivering reports, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Candidates must hold a relevant degree and have at least five years of HSE project management experience.

The role requires strong leadership skills, fluency in English, and a proactive approach to working in a fast-paced environment. Experience in real estate or hotel construction is an advantage.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Deliver health and safety management report to the client and relevant stakeholders.
• Provide project management support across multiple sites as needed.
• Ensure the project under supervision is effectively managed in terms of health and safety, with a strong focus on achieving zero incidents.
• Report HSE deviations, accidents, near misses, and other related incidents in regular project updates.
• Conduct safety and quality control audits to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Raise daily safety observations with the contractor and follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Prepare a monthly safety assessment report for the client, based on daily site visits and audit findings.
• Manage construction incidents in accordance with the client’s Incident Escalation Protocol, ensuring the contractor investigates and takes appropriate corrective actions.
• Ensure all project personnel complete the contractor’s health and safety induction prior to accessing the construction site.
• Perform weekly and monthly safety walks and upload the resulting reports to the document management system.

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in HSE, civil engineering, electrical / mechanical engineering or similar function
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with HSE projects.
• Experience and knowledge of all of the main HSE project management concepts, tools and techniques.
• Ability to coordinate with the concurrent base building works.
• Conversant to a competent level with Microsoft Office (incl. MS-Project Management)
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and high‑pressure environment, to meet often tight deadlines, and to work pro‑actively as part of a committed team
• Demonstrate a proficient level of professional skill and/or knowledge in project management and keep current with developments and trends. Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs.
• Fluent in spoken and written English is a must.
• Strong leadership, communication & interpersonal skills.
• Having experience in the real estate or hotel construction is a plus.
• POH in Balikpapan, willing to work on-site Tabang with roster work schedule.
