Job summary

Black Owl Indonesia is searching for a seasoned culinary professional to lead menu development and R&D across Jakarta outlets. You will develop, test, and refine recipes to uphold brand standards, coordinating with Head Chefs and kitchen teams to ensure consistent quality and presentation.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in culinary operations or leadership roles, strong knowledge of food trends, and a collaborative approach to improve guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in culinary operations, menu development, R&D, or as a Head/Sous Chef.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and improve recipes and menu items in line with Black Owl’s brand identity and culinary standards.
• Support kitchen operations and ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation across outlets.
• Research food trends and market preferences to identify opportunities for new menu development.
• Standardize recipes, portioning, preparation methods, and presentation to ensure consistency.
• Collaborate with Head Chefs, Sous Chefs, and kitchen teams to implement new menu items and improve existing products.
• Monitor ingredient quality, food cost, portion control, and operational efficiency.
• Conduct product trials and tasting sessions, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
• Maintain proper documentation of recipes, trials, production methods, and menu standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve kitchen processes, product quality, and overall guest experience.
• Support management in culinary projects, menu launches, and other food-related initiatives.
