Job summary

LaSalle College Jakarta is seeking a Graphic Design Lecturer to deliver practice-oriented education that develops students into creative, critical and employable visual communication professionals.

The role involves teaching, mentoring students through real-world projects, and contributing to curriculum development while upholding academic quality and industry reputation. Candidates should have strong design skills and industry experience, with a passion for working with young creatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in Visual Communication Design or closely related field.
• Master’s degree in Design or relevant field is required/preferred.
• Proven industry experience in Graphic Design, Advertising, Art Direction or Social-First Creative is preferred.
• Previous teaching or mentoring experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in Graphic Design and Visual Communication Design.
• Good understanding of design principles, typography, layout, branding and creative development.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and digital design workflows.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Must not hold active NIDN/NUPTK affiliation or be registered as a lecturer at another institution.
• Passionate about working with young creatives and developing their capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging graphic design courses per approved outlines and outcomes.
• Introduce contemporary design practice including visual storytelling, branding, advertising and creative direction.
• Use Adobe Creative Suite and digital workflows in teaching and demonstrations.
• Guide students through design projects from concept development to final execution.
• Assess student work against criteria and submit grades on schedule.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback to develop students' skills.
• Mentor students in creating professional portfolios and career readiness.
• Contribute to curriculum development and academic activities and participate in meetings.
• Bring industry experience and live briefs into the classroom; engage in guest lectures and partner projects.
• Uphold academic policies, safeguarding standards and continuous professional development.
