Job summary

JAC Recruitment presents a Furniture Research and Development (R&D) Manager role for a hands-on professional who acts as a think tank for new design development and mentors the team onsite in Indonesia. The role leads the R&D function, establishes design standards, and shapes prioritization for product development in both short and long term horizons.

The candidate will bridge product innovation with manufacturing execution, review drawings, and guide strategy on buy‑or‑create decisions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Product Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in custom furniture manufacturing.
• Strong background in R&D, product development, or Product Design Engineering.
• Experience creating new furniture designs, with a keen understanding of industry trends, particularly in sofa design.
• Solid understanding of materials, including wood and metal, as well as production processes, manufacturing flow, and costing structures such as bills of materials and bills of quantities.
• Proven leadership experience managing large teams of approximately 25–30 people.
