Job description

Influx is seeking a Finance Operations Lead to:

  • Streamline finance workflows,
  • Improve reporting accuracy, and
  • Lead the evolution of our financial systems.

In this role, you'll sit at the intersection of finance and technology designing smarter systems, reducing manual work, and driving process excellence.

This role requires a proactive problem solver who is comfortable working with ERP systems and is excited by automation tools and AI-driven solutions to enhance process efficiency.

You'll collaborate closely with our Financial Controller, engineers, and cross-functional teams to ensure our finance operations are scalable, efficient, and built for growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and enhance our in-house financial systems, working closely with Engineering to identify improvements and implement solutions.
  • Reduce spreadsheet dependency and manual admin through smart process design and automation.
  • Utilize advanced Google Sheets, formulas, and Apps or AI tools like ChatGPTto optimize workflows and eliminate repetitive tasks.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and build clear process maps, guides, and documentation for the broader team.
Project Management
  • Support cross-functional initiatives and finance-driven projects.
  • Deliver assignments from senior management, including reporting for new launches and process reviews.
  • Define the success criteria and ensure the success of the financial systems and process improvement project implementation.
Ad Hoc Financial Operations Support
  • Provide reliable backup support during team absences.
  • Assist with ad-hoc daily accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, payroll support, and expense tracking.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy across financial reporting and internal controls.
What We're Looking For
  • 3-8 years of experience in Operations and Systems Management, such as process optimization, workflow automation, and ERP/system integration. Preferably working closely with finance/accounting teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including complex formulas, macros, and Apps.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems implementation or experience with transitioning accounting systems.
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude.ai) and their applications in automating processes and generating code.
  • Process optimization experience Strong background in improving processes and systems to enhance efficiency and the change management required (collaborating with other departments).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Strong writing skills for guides/how-tos and process maps or charts.
  • Attention to Detail: well-organised, meticulous, accurate, creates robust and reliable systems/processes.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing business needs, including handling ad hoc projects and tasks.
