Assistant Manager – Commercial Finance
As Assistant Manager – Commercial Finance, you will be the finance lead for all DME (Direct Marketing Expense) processes and governance, ensuring budget efficiency, investment effectiveness, and full compliance. You will partner directly with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Strategic Partner, and other Finance teams to deliver insights, challenge assumptions, and enable smarter decisions through data. This role is more than managing numbers; you will lead the analysis behind marketing investments, ensure every spend delivers value, and help shape smarter decisions across the business. By connecting data, systems, and teams, your work will directly influence how we grow.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead annual and rolling DME budgeting in Finance across system, including setup, monthly phasing, reclass, carryover, and reconciliation.
- Manage DME closing cycles: accrual, realization, system alignment, and variance analysis.
- Ensure consistent financial accuracy and visibility of DME by channel, sub‑channel, and brand.
- Drive Return on Marketing Investment analysis to evaluate campaign performance and advise commercial teams.
- Provide forward‑looking insights to optimize spending across Modern Trade and General Trade channels, and marketing support mix.
- Oversee full DME lifecycle management including alignment with Finance, Marketing, Commercial and other Strategic Partner teams.
- Support New Product Development financial readiness: value chain calculation and setup, and system gate reviews.
- Lead preparation for SOX compliance, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, external audits, and internal control validations.
- Contribute to finance capability‑building, including training material for project teams and internal learning forums.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Business.
- Minimum 4 years in Commercial Finance or Marketing Finance roles—ideally in FMCG or multinational environments.
- Proven experience managing marketing budgets, financial systems, and analysis tools.
- Strong business acumen with excellent stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail, ownership mindset, and comfort operating under complexity.
