Description

The opportunity:

As a Field Service Engineer at Hitachi Energy, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of Hitachi equipment and systems at customer sites. This entry-level role provides a foundational opportunity to develop technical expertise and customer service skills within a dynamic engineering environment.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • You will assist senior field service engineers with the installation, configuration, and commissioning of Hitachi products and systems at various customer locations.

  • You will perform routine preventative maintenance and diagnostics on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime, troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues with hardware and software components, utilizing diagnostic tools and technical documentation.

  • You will execute repairs and replacements of faulty parts, ensure adherence to Hitachi's quality and safety standards, document all service activities, including detailed reports of installations, maintenance performed, and repairs made.

  • You will communicate effectively with customers to explain technical issues, solutions, and preventive measures in a clear and professional manner.

  • You will participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills related to Hitachi's product portfolio, adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and customer site protocols.

  • You will provide basic technical support and guidance to customers as needed, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing Hitachi Energy.

  • You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field.

  • Strong foundational understanding of electrical and mechanical principles.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in using basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Willingness and ability to travel frequently to customer sites, potentially including overnight stays.

  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Prior internship or co-op experience in a technical or field service role is a plus and customer-focused attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

  • Proficiency in English communication.
