Job summary

Macquarie Group seeks a junior equity research professional in Jakarta to support a seasoned team. The role focuses on updating financial models, maintaining industry databases, and producing market analyses, sector updates and client briefings.

The position welcomes fresh graduates with a quantitative background, strong numerical skills, and a drive to learn about Indonesia's capital markets, FMCG/retail sectors, and client-focused research.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in a quantitative, economics, finance, computer science or similar discipline; fresh graduates are welcome
• Relevant work or internship experience in equity research or investment analysis gained from a sell-side or buy-side environment
• Strong numerical and modelling skills, well-versed in financial concepts with exceptional communication skills and fluency in English
• Self-motivated with an analytical mindset and a passion in equity research and Indonesia's capital markets, with a drive to succeed and willingness to learn
• Sector knowledge in FMCG and Retail is advantageous but not a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

• Updating and maintaining financial models and industry databases
• Managing market analysis and client presentations and briefings
• Writing, previewing and reviewing quarterly results, sector updates and thematic reports
• Have the opportunity to generate new ideas, participate in coverage initiation on new companies, engage with senior stakeholders of the companies covered and help build our client base and revenue over time.
