Facility Overview

Our facility in Batam, Indonesia specializes in the production of lighting and detection product technologies including our Specialty Lamps for industrial and photonics applications, IPL Lamps and Trigger Coils, as well as Infra-Red Detectors (IRD), Sensor Modules and Pyro-electric Ceramic Wafers. Operating since September 1994, this site is also responsible for manufacturing of our Thermopile Sensors (TPS), Thermopile modules (TPM), CCD Sensors and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies.

Position Summary

Equipment / Maintenance Engineer who will be responsible for developing and executing maintenance strategies, conducting equipment diagnostics, performing root cause analysis, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to minimize equipment downtime and optimize equipment availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule preventive maintenance and repair activities to ensure smooth operation of all machines.
• Ensure equipment performance meets specifications and targets for uptime and productivity.
• Control the availability of maintenance tools, equipment, and spare parts for all machinery to prevent delays.
• Create and maintain maintenance procedures and work instructions; keep detailed records of equipment performance, maintenance, and tooling management.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions; conduct root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence of issues.
• Drive improvement initiatives to reduce machine breakdowns and optimize Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
• Coordinate the purchasing, testing, commissioning, and installation of specialized components and equipment.
• Lead project meetings, track progress, and ensure actions align with goals.
• Ensure the effective management of energy consumption. Verify and calibrate equipment used by the maintenance team, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Work closely with service vendors and equipment owners to manage equipment acquisition, servicing, and modifications.
• Ensure compliance with quality, environment, health, and safety standards in the designated area.

Requirements

• ​Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
• 3–5 years of experience in maintenance engineering in electronics or high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with project management practices and the ability to lead project teams.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
• Familiar with equipment optimization practices.
• Trained Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus.
• Demonstrates deep knowledge of electrical systems.
• Good English communication skills, both verbal and written.
