Job summary

Hatch in Jakarta, Indonesia is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will lead the structural discipline across project phases, interface with clients on technical matters, and drive design and calculations for mining, infrastructure and energy projects.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, 17+ years in multidisciplinary consultancy, and proven proficiency with SAP2000, SpaceGass, Strand7 and StaadPro.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Minimum 17 years of experience in multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
• Demonstrated design experience in mining/industrial projects from concept to detail design.
• Experience with structural design software such as SAP2000, SpaceGass, Strand7 and StaadPro.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry and/or regulatory standards relating to structural engineering including American Codes, Australian codes and Indonesian Standards.
• Leadership experience or potential.

• Interface with clients on technical matters.
• Provide structural engineering analysis and design.
• Plan and manage engineering activities using Engineering Work Packages.

• Prepare Material Take Offs/Bill of Quantities.
• Review and check engineering drawings.
• Provide input to engineering, operating and cost estimates.
• Participate in and contribute to design reviews.

As The Successful Candidate, You Will

• Lead and coordinate the structural discipline team across project phases from pre-feasibility to execution, operating effectively with minimal supervision.
• Interface with clients on technical matters.
• Provide structural engineering analysis and design.
• Plan and managing engineering activities using Engineering Work Packages.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications and scopes of work.

• Provide input to engineering, operating and cost estimates.
• Participate in and contribute to design reviews.
• Able to undertake site visits and liaise with clients on site as needed to resolve construction issues, respond to technical queries, and support project delivery.

You Bring To The Role

• Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Minimum 17 years of experience in multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
• Demonstrated design experience in mining/industrial projects from concept to detail design.
• Strong background in basic engineering principles.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for inter-departmental and external company interactions.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Demonstrated design experience.
• Experience with structural design software such as SAP2000, SpaceGass, Strand7 and StaadPro.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry and/or regulatory standards relating to structural engineering) including American Codes, Australian codes and Indonesian Standards.
• Previous structural engineering experience within the infrastructure, industrial and mining sectors is preferred.
• Leadership experience or ability to demonstrate potential in this area.
• Applicants holding relevant Indonesian professional engineering registrations and certifications, such as Professional Engineer (Insinyur Profesional/PII), SKK, and other applicable credentials, will be highly regarded.
