Job summary

Swaniti Initiative seeks an early‑career environmental health researcher to monitor air quality, lead contamination, and related policy developments in Indonesia. You will review literature, compile evidence, and prepare briefing notes for Senators and stakeholders.

You will conduct constituency-based research, map stakeholders, and develop background materials for meetings, hearings, and public engagements, culminating in a final research paper on an agreed issue.

Qualifications

Early-career researcher in environmental health or related fields.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Ability to conduct literature reviews and synthesize evidence.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to interpret scientific, policy and regulatory information.
Interest in public policy and evidence-informed decision‑making.
Indonesian resident.

Responsibilities

Monitor provincial developments on clean air, air pollution and lead contamination.
Review scientific literature, regulations and local data relevant to priorities.
Conduct constituency-based research to identify risks and gaps.
Prepare briefing notes and background materials under Swaniti guidance.
Develop and update stakeholder mapping.
Respond to research questions from Senators.
Prepare background materials for meetings and public engagements.
Document findings and incorporate feedback from Swaniti and Senators.
Prepare a final research paper on a selected issue.
