Task and Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Design
    • Review project specifications, drawings, and standards.
    • Prepare single‑line diagrams (SLD), layouts, and load calculations.
  • Project Coordination & Management
    • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
    • Ensure project scope, budget, and schedule are met.
    • Participate in project meetings and provide technical inputs.
    • Prepare material requisitions and technical specifications.
    • Evaluate supplier quotations and support procurement.
    • Ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials.
    • Supervise site installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
    • Ensure compliance with drawings, standards, and safety requirements.
    • Plan and execute pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.
    • Ensure systems are energized and operational as per specifications.
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure electrical works comply with national/international codes (IEC, IEEE, NEC, etc.).
    • Follow QA/QC procedures and safety regulations.
    • Conduct inspections and resolve NCRs (non‑conformance reports).
  • Project Handover & Documentation
    • Prepare as‑built drawings, operation manuals, and test reports.
    • Train client/end‑user on system operation.
    • Support project closure and handover to operations/maintenance team.

In summary: An Electrical Project Engineer ensures the successful design, procurement, installation, testing, and delivery of electrical systems within a project, while managing coordination, compliance, and quality.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in related fields.
  • Digital proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel (calculation analysis), PowerPoint (project summaries).
  • Technical proficiency: mechanical drawing knowledge; familiarity with production, machining, and manufacturing processes advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills for stakeholder coordination and quality checks (FATs).
  • Experience in construction sites, EPC projects, or power plants highly preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, protection & control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, EPLAN, Dialux, MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, ANSI, BS).
  • Understanding of the project lifecycle (concept, design, procurement, construction, testing & commissioning).
  • Knowledge of HV/MV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers, cables, grounding, and protection systems.
  • Ability to prepare and review single‑line diagrams (SLD), layouts, schematics, and BOQs.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, ERP systems).
