CACTUS is seeking an Editor to apply subject-matter expertise to refine research manuscripts for clear, rigorous scientific communication. You will ensure accuracy and discipline-specific clarity while improving language quality for global publication in prestigious journals.

The role leverages your PhD-level background and experience in scientific editing, peer review, or academic publishing. This remote position offers flexible workload and access to learning resources.

Qualifications

• PhD completed in Education, Economics, Literature and Linguistics, and Statistics.
• Ability to critically evaluate scientific content and ensure discipline-specific accuracy.
• Excellent written English with attention to detail.
• Experience in scientific editing, peer review, or academic publishing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit manuscripts to improve clarity, coherence, and readability of scientific content while preserving the authors’ meaning.
• Ensure subject-specific terminology, conventions, and scientific arguments are accurate for the target audience.
• Improve the presentation of complex research findings to enhance publication readiness.
• Edit manuscripts to meet high standards of academic writing and format per target journal guidelines when required.

• Improve the presentation of complex research findings to enhance their communication and publication readiness.
• Edit manuscripts such that the final text meets the highest standards of academic writing, is free of unclear, illogical, or unidiomatic sentences. Adhere to job-specific guidelines and format manuscripts according to the target journal when required.

Qualifications and Prerequisites
