Job Description
As the Director of Sales - MICE, you will be responsible for driving the growth and success of Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua’s MICE business. This is a strategic leadership role where you will oversee all sales activities related to meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions. You will lead a team of talented sales professionals, develop key client relationships, and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience and maximum revenue growth. Your role will be pivotal in positioning Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua as the premier MICE destination in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive MICE sales strategy to drive business growth and exceed revenue targets, focusing on increasing market share and attracting high‑profile MICE clients.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate the MICE sales team to achieve performance goals; foster a culture of high performance, creativity, and customer service excellence.
- Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, PCOs, DMCs, associations, and event planners; ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Market Research & Competitor Analysis: Monitor and analyze industry trends, competitor offerings, and market dynamics; adapt sales strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities in the MICE sector.
- Event Support & Coordination: Work closely with operations and events teams to ensure seamless execution of MICE events from inquiry to post‑event follow‑up; ensure all client requirements are met and exceeded.
- Brand Promotion & Representation: Represent Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua at industry trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events; promote the Sofitel brand as a luxury MICE destination and increase visibility within the global MICE community.
- Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular reports to the senior leadership team on MICE performance, trends, and opportunities; evaluate and optimize sales processes to enhance revenue generation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 8 years of experience in MICE sales, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role, preferably within the luxury hospitality sector.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding MICE sales targets, with a strong understanding of the MICE market and industry dynamics.
- In‑depth knowledge of Bali’s MICE market and the ability to identify new business opportunities.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a high‑performing sales team.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Experience in using CRM systems and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of other languages (e.g., Bahasa Indonesia) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make strategic decisions.
