Job Description

We are looking for a Data Modeller to support our client, a leading organization in Germany, in improving and documenting their data management processes. The role involves analyzing data origins and flows, defining ownership, and supporting data quality initiatives within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Identify and clarify the origin and usage of data within the organization.


• Document data flows and structures, including Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD).


• Develop proposals for data ownership and governance models.


• Support the definition and documentation of data access rights and permissions.


• Assist in improving data quality when required.


• Conduct trainings or workshops related to data management and documentation standards.


• Analyzing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models.


• Experienced in data modeling.


• Working with the development team to create conceptual data models and data flows.


• Developing best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system.


• Reviewing modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility.


• Implementing data strategies and developing physical data models.


• Updating and optimizing local and metadata models.


• Evaluating implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.


• Troubleshooting and optimizing data systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.


• Proven experience as a Data Modeller, Data Analyst, or similar role.


• Strong understanding of data architecture, data governance, and data documentation.


• Hands‑on experience with ERD tools and RDBMS (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).


• Knowledge of data quality frameworks and best practices.


• Familiar with data access control and data ownership concepts.


• Excellent analytical and communication skills.


• English proficiency minimum B2 level (able to communicate effectively with international teams).


• Experience working with European clients is a plus.


• 3 years of hands‑on experience with physical and relational data modeling.


• Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools.


• Knowledge of mathematical foundations and statistical analysis.


• Strong interpersonal skills.
