We are renowned for our technical excellence and leading innovations, and for making a difference to our clients and society. Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion – it’s a place where you can grow, belong and thrive.

Your day at NTT DATA: As a Principal Software Technology Sales Specialist you will be our subject matter expert in generating demand and securing qualified sales leads for our software business. Your role will be dynamic, involving the identification of new opportunities within existing accounts and presenting tailored solutions, value propositions, partner configurations, cost structures, and revenue models to our clients.

You will spend a substantial amount of your time actively engaged in selling or supporting the sales process alongside our Client Managers. By collaborating with pre‑sales architects, you will help create the most effective solution designs for our clients. You will also share responsibility for the win strategy with the sales team, providing innovative alternatives to suboptimal RFPs and driving overall software sales engagements, pricing, and contractual terms.

The role also involves developing and executing sales strategies with the Software/GTM Leadership, ensuring we meet key performance indicators such as Annual recurring revenue (ARR). You will position enterprise agreements and licensing options that align with client needs, leveraging your knowledge of vendor licensing models from industry leaders like Cisco, Microsoft, VMware and Palo Alto.

Acting as the go‑to expert on all software licensing queries, you will support Client Managers in navigating clients toward the best options. You will maintain a high level of service knowledge, keep up with the competitive landscape, and adapt quickly to new missions or urgent deadlines, always striving to provide the best‑fit solutions for our clients.

To thrive in this role you need to have:

  • Extensive knowledge of IT operations and software sales motions, with the ability to understand and address client problems.
  • Deep understanding of software licensing, enterprise agreements and vendor licensing models from key industry players.
  • Proven success in solution‑based selling and engaging with C‑suite clients.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to craft mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales and/or technology, especially in managed IT services, systems integration or similar fields.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively question and engage stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and meet urgent deadlines.
