PT Talenta Eksekutif Asia (Matcha Talent) seeks a Data Center Project & Technical Director in Jakarta Selatan to lead the end-to-end delivery of large-scale data center projects, ensuring technical integrity and on-time performance.

Its Data Center business in Indonesia is expanding its project leadership capabilities to support increasingly complex, large-scale deployments involving multiple engineering disciplines, EPC/EPCM contractors, consultants, technology suppliers, and customer stakeholders.
The Data Center Project & Technical Director is a senior leadership position responsible for the technical integrity and end-to-end delivery of large-scale data center projects.
This role combines two critical responsibilities: technical design authority and project delivery leadership.
On the technical side, the role leads solution design, engineering validation, blueprint review, BOQ validation, multidisciplinary coordination, testing, commissioning, and technical risk management. The role ensures that solutions developed during bidding are technically feasible and can be successfully translated into physical project execution.
On the project side, the role oversees project strategy, execution governance, commercial performance, schedule, risk, contractual obligations, stakeholder management, and final customer acceptance.
The successful candidate will act as the key technical and project authority connecting pre-sales solution design, engineering teams, suppliers, contractors, consultants, delivery teams, and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead the technical design and solution architecture of large-scale data center projects.
Review and validate high-level bidding architectures before project award.
Translate customer requirements into technically feasible and commercially viable solutions.
Review detailed engineering designs, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
Ensure consistency between conceptual design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and final implementation.
Validate BOQ, equipment requirements, technical specifications, and engineering assumptions.
Identify technical gaps, design conflicts, and engineering risks before and during project execution.
Provide technical leadership across major data center infrastructure disciplines, including:
Electrical power distribution
UPS and backup power systems
Generators
HVAC and cooling systems
BMS and DCIM
Network and ICT infrastructure
Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure integrated system design.
Review load calculations, capacity planning, equipment configuration, and system integration.
Ensure engineering solutions comply with customer requirements and applicable international/local standards.
Lead data center projects from project initiation through construction, commissioning, customer acceptance, and closure.
Develop project execution strategies aligned with contractual requirements and customer specifications.
Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
Manage project milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and critical path activities.
Ensure technical solutions are translated accurately into on-site execution.
Provide technical direction to site teams and resolve critical engineering issues during construction and commissioning.
Work closely with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and customer representatives during project implementation.
Review site conditions and ensure construction follows approved engineering drawings and specifications.
Clarify technical issues and design changes with suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Support site teams in resolving complex technical problems and implementation risks.
Conduct or support technical reviews, inspections, testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities.
Ensure project implementation meets required quality and technical standards.
Take ownership of project-level commercial and financial performance.
Monitor project P&L, budget, revenue milestones, cost, margin, and cash flow.
Ensure technical decisions consider both engineering requirements and commercial impact.
Identify potential cost overruns and technical risks that may affect project profitability.
Support contract variation, change request, and commercial negotiation processes.
Work closely with commercial and project teams to protect project margins.
Establish project governance frameworks covering technical, commercial, schedule, and delivery risks.
Identify and mitigate technical and project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Manage escalation processes for critical technical, contractual, and delivery issues.
Support contract interpretation, change requests, claims, and variation orders.
Ensure project decisions remain aligned with contractual commitments and customer requirements.
Ensure projects comply with applicable data center standards and engineering frameworks.
Govern testing, commissioning, and system integration activities.
Ensure appropriate technical documentation and acceptance criteria are established.
Oversee integration testing and commissioning processes, including relevant TCCF and Uptime Tier requirements.
Ensure project execution meets applicable ASHRAE, HSE/HSEQ, local building regulations, and customer standards.
Drive quality assurance throughout design, construction, testing, and handover.
Act as a senior technical and project representative for major customers.
Build strong relationships with customer executives, technical teams, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Lead high-level technical discussions and project governance meetings.
Communicate project risks, technical decisions, milestones, and commercial implications to senior stakeholders.
Manage complex multi-vendor environments and resolve escalated customer issues.
Collaborate with regional and global engineering, technology, and delivery teams.
Adapt global technical solutions and engineering standards to local project requirements.
Coordinate with international suppliers and technical specialists for large-scale deployments.
Support knowledge transfer and technical best-practice implementation across projects.
Bachelor's Degree (S1) or higher in: Electrical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Telecommunication Engineering; Building Services Engineering; Information Technology; or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in project delivery, engineering, construction, infrastructure, or technology implementation.
Minimum 3-5 years of dedicated experience leading large-scale data center projects.
Proven experience delivering data center projects involving 500+ racks or similarly large-scale environments.
Strong experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects from design through construction, commissioning, and customer acceptance.
Proven experience working with EPC/EPCM contractors, consultants, suppliers, and multiple technology vendors.
Experience covering both pre-sales solution design and post-sales project execution is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including:

Candidates should also understand relevant data center standards and frameworks, including: Uptime Tier standards; TCCF; ASHRAE; HSE/HSEQ requirements; and Local building and engineering regulations.
Strong understanding of project governance, project P&L, budgeting, cost control, revenue recognition, and cash flow.
Experience managing project risks, schedules, contract changes, claims, and variation orders.
Strong understanding of EPC/EPCM project structures and multi-vendor delivery environments.
Ability to balance technical requirements with commercial objectives and project profitability.
PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is highly preferred.
