A renowned international school in Surabaya is seeking an educational support specialist to collaborate with teachers and provide direct support to students with additional needs. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's in Psychology, experience in the field, and strong communication skills. This position offers the opportunity to enhance student well-being through counseling and support initiatives.
Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to support assessment for learning of students with additional educational needs and identify specific learning support needs. Provide direct support for students through strategies including direct instruction, differentiation in teaching, assessment, and monitoring of progress, covering areas such as social integration, language and communication, literacy, numeracy, and behavior. This may include students with a confirmed diagnosis. Support teachers in dealing with students with special needs in the classroom. Facilitate the participation of students in mental health, well-being, mindfulness activities, and events locally, nationally, and internationally. Provide individual and group counseling to students with identified concerns and needs, including social groups.
