Overview
Our client is a speciality coffee company recognised for its modern concept stores, artisanal offerings, and innovative culinary approach. They are currently seeking a Cost Controller to oversee purchasing compliance, manage inventory and cost control processes, prepare financial reports, and ensure efficient use of resources across stores, kitchens, and warehouses.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in cost control or a related function in a similar business for the past five years.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, cost monitoring techniques, and procurement processes.
- Excellent analytical abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently while handling multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and inventory management tools.
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and assess cost trends.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Additional certifications in cost control, inventory management, or financial analysis are an advantage but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and ensure all purchased materials comply with established purchasing procedures.
- Verify the accuracy of purchasing entry records from stores and kitchens, ensuring proper compliance of stock entries with procedures (including name, unit, warehouse, quantity, and amount).
- Follow up on and confirm that orders from stores and warehouses are placed correctly.
- Oversee cost control for store, kitchen, and warehouse products, reporting any irregular or unjustified expenses.
- Ensure proper and efficient use of all materials at the store level and prepare related usage reports.
- Accurately record all product recipes in the system and maintain continuous oversight.
- Report recipes to management and assist in determining sales prices.
- Prepare detailed monthly and annual cost reports.
- Provide inventory difference reports to stores at month-end and ensure discrepancies are audited.
- Investigate causes of inventory differences in warehouses.
- Deliver training on stock control, inventory, and order management to store managers.
- Manage and account for daily warehouse entries and exits.
- Track price fluctuations of purchased materials and report any unusual changes.
- Monitor sales performance of materials offered and report defects or issues.
- Prepare food and beverage counts for accounting purposes.
- Oversee and authorize product transfers between stores.
