Position Overview
The Contracting Manager is responsible for developing and managing strong business relationships with hotels and suppliers, ensuring competitive rates, full availability, and exclusive deals to maximize revenue for the company. This role covers both static and dynamic contracting, negotiation with 4- and 5-star properties, and managing large portfolios. The manager also provides leadership to the contracting team, ensuring company objectives are met in quality, pricing, and availability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Relationship Management
- Act as key account manager for hotel and supplier partnerships.
- Identify new business opportunities, products, and offers with sourcing markets.
- Conduct regular visits, calls, and meetings to strengthen relationships.
- Adapt contracting strategies based on customer demand and market trends.
- Negotiate exclusive deals and seasonal promotions for competitiveness.
- Train hotels on the Supplier Portal to optimize inventory, pricing, and sales.
Static Contracting (Seasonal Contracts)
- Manage a portfolio of 6,700+ hotels across Bali.
- Negotiate and renew seasonal contracts, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Review and verify contract accuracy before activation.
- Secure full availability across room categories and last‑minute (zero‑release) inventory.
- Negotiate seasonal and permanent discounts.
- Implement and monitor Special Offers (SPOs) based on demand.
- Conduct daily yielding for top accounts, benchmarking with Expedia, etc.
- Deliver weekly financial, market, and performance reports.
Dynamic Contracting (Channel Manager & Extranet)
- Approach hotels to integrate via channel managers or the company's extranet.
- Negotiate dynamic agreements focusing on commissions, competitive rates, and full inventory.
- Oversee onboarding and signing process until integration is complete.
- Yield and monitor competitiveness monthly.
- Train smaller hotels on using the extranet effectively.
- Supervise Contracting Associates, Operations, Quotation, and CLU teams.
- Provide training on planning, data analysis, and stress management.
- Motivate and guide the team to achieve goals.
- Support operations with challenges and negotiate discounts as needed.
Reporting
- Deliver weekly financial (P&L, market positioning) and technical (system errors, mapping, inventory) reports.
- Prepare competitor benchmarking and market analysis reports.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Tourism, or Hospitality Management.
- 5–7 years of contracting experience in DMC, OTA, wholesaler, or hotel chains.
- Expertise in static and dynamic contracting, channel managers, and extranets.
- Proven negotiation skills with 4- and 5-star hotels.
- Strong knowledge of rate yielding and benchmarking, Expedia, etc.
- Leadership and team training ability.
- Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and English fluency (other languages a plus).
- Commercially driven and results-oriented.
- Strong negotiator with attention to detail.
