About the role
Joining PT Kingsmen Indonesia as a Contract Manager, you will be responsible for the entire contract lifecycle, from the pre-qualification and tendering phases through negotiation, large contract execution, settlement, and payment. This role bridges technical (QS), commercial (Procurement), and legal (Compliance) aspects to ensure all contracts are executed efficiently, maintain competitive pricing, and are legally sound to protect the company’s interests.
What you\'ll be doing
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate commercial and legal risks associated with all major contracts, especially during negotiation and tender finalization.
- Ensure all incoming and outgoing tender documents meet necessary legal and administrative prerequisites.
- Oversee and verify the contract payment process (including progress billing, retention, and liquidated damages) to ensure timeliness and strict adherence to the agreed contract terms.
- Manage the QS team in calculating the Bill of Quantity (BOQ), project cost estimation, and unit price analysis to ensure accuracy and profitability.
- Direct the sourcing and procurement strategies for materials and services, guaranteeing ethical, transparent, and timely procurement in line with project schedules.
- Manage cost to achieve competitive prices for tenders by optimizing quotes and costs secured by the Procurement team.
- Lead high-stakes contract and price negotiations with principals and vendors to secure the best pricing and most advantageous terms for the company.
- Take charge of expanding the company’s supply chain, both locally and internationally, to enhance price competitiveness and supply security.
- Identify and qualify competitive suppliers from overseas, managing the logistical and legal aspects of international procurement (import/export laws).
- Develop and implement a system for evaluating supplier performance to ensure delivery compliance, reliability, and quality standards are consistently met.
What we\'re looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree (S1) in Engineering (Civil/Industrial), Construction Management, Law, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (15+ years) in contract management, preferably within the design and build in industry.
- In-depth expertise in contract law, commercial law, and dispute resolution mechanisms (ADR/Arbitration).
- Proven ability to lead large contract negotiations and manage multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and persuade.
- Proficient in using contract management software and tools to track and report on contract performance.
- Excellent command of English, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively in a professional setting.
