Job summary

Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent) or Diploma/Certification in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts is a strong asset.

Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a similar role, such as Chief Steward or Assistant Chief Steward, in a high-volume environment (5-star hotel or large catering facility).

Strong knowledge and implementation of Food Safety & HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points).

Experience in chemical handling procedures & safety protocols.

Familiar with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.

Familiar with Health & Safety Regulations.

Fluent in English (spoken & written).

Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills, and team management skills.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and coordinate daily sanitation operations across all kitchen and storage areas, including dishwashing, surface cleaning, and preventive maintenance of equipment.

Develop and manage staff scheduling, conduct performance evaluations, and deliver training programs for the stewarding team on hygiene standards and safety protocols.

Ensure strict adherence to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in compliance with HACCP principles and all applicable local regulatory requirements.

Monitor and manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and kitchen equipment, ensuring accurate stock control and timely replenishment to maintain uninterrupted operations.

Ensure proper handling, preventive maintenance, and secure storage of all kitchen equipment; promptly report and follow up on any malfunctions or breakdowns to minimize operational disruptions.

Implement cost‑control strategies by optimizing resource utilization and monitoring budget adherence to ensure operational efficiency and financial sustainability.

Prepare and maintain detailed reports on equipment breakages, chemical consumption, and stewarding schedules.

Ensure effective waste management and recycling practices in compliance with company policies and environmental regulations.

Oversee health, safety & environment implementation practices in daily work and within their work area in the organization.

Ensure that all subordinates refrain from any involvement in bribery or corrupt practices in their daily work.
