Job summary

dsm-firmenich is seeking a Buyer for Logistics & Packaging to capture all related spend by implementing approved sourcing strategies for Indonesia sites. You will work with internal stakeholders to secure supply, drive savings, and align with category leads and operations, contributing to the company’s goals.

The role requires 2+ years of senior procurement experience, knowledge of chemical logistics, and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant expertise area or equal level developed by experience.
• Local language and English required, other languages a plus.
• Min 2 years as Senior Procurement experience strongly preferred.
• Solid experience in chemical logistics/supply chain preferred.
• Negotiation, contracting, demand management and relevant systems savviness / multitasking.
• Effective communication, influencing & motivating others,
• Own and deliver the outcome.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of sourcing strategies for logistics & packaging categories and implement them in collaboration with key internal stakeholders
• Ensure security of supply at competitive commercial conditions, drive the category saving pipeline on the site(s) and engage with stakeholders to drive implementation and progress of new/alternative products, services and processes
• Track relevant markets, incl. macro-economic and geo-political influences, supply-demand situation, supplier/solution/technology development, regulation
• Prepare and lead competitive tender/RFQ, fact-based negotiations, supplier selection and contracting process for the spend
• Lead contract implementation and resolve issues in close alignment with Category lead and Operation team
• Initiate and conduct supplier performance evaluations; drive service/product improvement/optimization continuously

The Buyer Logistic & Packaging will be capturing all logistics services and packaging Materials spend by implementing the approved sourcing strategies and value generation for his/her responsible sites in Indonesia.
