A. Job Objective
The Business Development Officer for Indonesia (BDO-Indonesia) plays a key role in driving the business expansion efforts across Indonesia. This position focuses on identifying new opportunities, strengthening partnerships, and supporting the company's market entry and growth initiatives within the construction and infrastructure sectors.
B. Duties and Responsibilities
- Business Development Accountability
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities within Indonesia.
- Develop and execute market entry strategies aligned with local regulations, industry trends, and customer behaviors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, partners, government bodies, and industry associations.
- Generate new business leads, negotiate deals, and close partnership agreements aligned with company objectives.
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and operations teams to localize offerings and ensure smooth market integration.
- Represent the company in trade shows, industry conferences, and networking events.
- Track and report key business development metrics, sales pipeline updates, and performance against regional targets.
- Monitor regulatory changes and potential business risks to ensure compliance and alignment with company strategy.
- Sales and Marketing Accountability
- a. Selling – Conduct regular client visits based on the established coverage plan to strengthen relationships and identify new business opportunities; provide ongoing support to distributors, ensuring they have resources and information to effectively promote and sell products.
- b. Retaining – Develop and implement customer routing strategies to maintain effective communication and long‑term relationships; monitor distributor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking; track and manage purchase orders (POs) to ensure timely processing and product delivery; oversee and coordinate delivery processes for accurate and timely fulfillment; monitor Accounts Receivable (AR) to ensure timely collection and address overdue accounts; provide timely support for product concerns, ensuring quick and effective resolutions; manage and nurture key accounts, identifying areas for growth and improvement; collaborate with distributors to track and manage agency bidding processes in line with business goals.
- c. Intel Gathering – Prepare and monitor weekly sales reports to track progress and performance; conduct data analysis of sales performance to identify trends and opportunities; assist in target setting based on business goals, market conditions, and historical data.
- d. Influencing – Develop agency routing strategies to maintain strong relationships with key agencies; conduct product demonstrations for clients and partners to promote product adoption; create and implement sales strategies to achieve business objectives and maximize revenue.

- Provide consultation and advice on industry trends, market needs, and product opportunities.
- Support clients by identifying opportunities and aligning the company's offerings with market demands.
- Assist in pre‑ and post‑sales activities, including market research and strategic support.
- Prepare daily activity reports and join weekly one‑on‑one updates with the CEO.
- Participate in onboarding and a 2‑week training program in the Philippines.
- Conduct site visits to Philippine clients to understand operations and business processes.
D. Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications
- Over 5 years of experience in business development, key account management, or project‑based sales, ideally within the construction industry.
- Proven success in managing market expansion initiatives and high‑value client portfolios.
- Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in sales or account management, with exposure to project coordination or field operations in the construction sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or any related field.
- Strong computer literacy, including advanced skills in Excel and Google Workspace.
- Proficiency in modern applications, automation tools, and AI‑based solutions.
- Certified Project Manager (preferred).
- High confidence in making independent business decisions in the field.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and the local language.
- Proven ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders in the construction and infrastructure industries.
- Expertise in market research techniques and regional business development strategies.
- Demonstrated track record of driving regional growth initiatives.
