Job summary

Atoms seeks an experienced designer with a strong background in interiors/hospitality and renovation to lead multiple projects from concept through completion. You will manage design teams, coordinate with internal stakeholders, and ensure accuracy and adherence to standards across 10–15 concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 7–10 years of relevant experience, 2–3 years of people management, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior design, or related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience as a designer with interiors/hospitality/B&B or renovation/adaptive reuse.
• 2–3 years of people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing multiple concurrent projects and ensuring design accuracy through application of standards.
• Oversees consultant relationships and ensures efficient deployment of resources for project execution.
• Test-Fitting Modeling + Drawing.
• Owns design work, coordination, and problem-solving for 10–15 concurrent projects.
• Manages the work of 2–4 associates.
• Finds process hacks and efficiencies to scale a small team.
• Applies and adapts national standards to the region.
• Owns regional standards for product and process (prototype, sequencing, filing strategies).
• Raises, prioritizes, and navigates gating issues.
• Drives or participates in AHJ discussions and engages in appropriate political-level discussions.
• Sets local strategy around code issues.
• Coordinates with Dev, PM, Sales/Ops for project design alignment.
• Manages consultant relationships and deploys preferred consultants at scale.

What you’ll do

• Drives or participates in conversations with AHJ's, and able to engage in political-level discussions appropriately
• Sets local strategy surrounding code issues
• Coordinates with internal stakeholders to align on project design (including Dev, PM; sales /ops)
• Manages consultant relationships and deploys preferred consultants effectively at scale

What we’re looking for

• 7-10 years relevant experience as a designer with a strong background in interiors/hospitality/F&B and/or renovation / adaptive reuse.
• 2-3 years of peple management experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior design, or related fields.
• Experienced with all project phases.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Suites.
• Strong space-planning ability.
• Strong ability in architectural representation, drafting, and detail development.
• Detail obsession, able to go deep on tasks as needed, execute & perform duties with accuracy, raise attention to potential issues & communicate relevant information to all parties.
• Ability to multitask plan development for multiple projects with short timelines.
• Ability to coordinate architectural and engineering systems cohesively.
