Job Purpose
To lead and optimize the bonding mechanic team, ensuring high availability and reliability of bonding equipment, implementing preventive and corrective maintenance programs, and coordinating cross-departmental activities to support production goals. Develop the skillset of subordinates and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, organize, and manage the bonding mechanic team; review workload and allocate resources efficiently.
- Develop, implement, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all bonding machines and related equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance, diagnose issues, coordinate repairs, and ensure minimum downtime.
- Establish and enforce operational standards for bonding processes; drive continuous improvement in equipment utilization and process efficiency.
- Plan and control production schedules related to bonding activities; identify and communicate needs for machines, spare parts, tools, and attachments.
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventories, and procurement coordination with relevant departments.
- Ensure proper documentation: maintenance logs, machine history, work orders, and compliance records.
- Coordinate with other departments (production, quality, safety, procurement, engineering) to align activities and optimize overall output.
- Develop and implement training programs to build subordinate skills and succession planning.
- Enforce safety, quality, and environmental policies; promote a culture of safe and reliable operations.
Qualifications
- Technical proficiency in operating bonding machines, applying bonding adhesives, and basic machine maintenance.
- Strong production management experience within underwear/garments manufacturing; familiarity with bonding processes across underwear, garments, and related items.
- Comprehensive knowledge of bonding equipment, attachments, folders, and ancillary tools; able to troubleshoot diverse equipment configurations.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant field experience, with a proven track record in leading maintenance or bonding mechanics teams.
- Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance planning, spare parts management, and production scheduling.
- Knowledge of safety standards and quality systems applicable to fabric bonding operations (e.g., PPE, lockout/tagout, process control).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Certifications related to machine maintenance, lean manufacturing, or industrial safety are a plus.
