Job summary

Mercor is seeking a bilingual Indonesian Generalist Expert - AI Safety for a remote contract role. You will write expert‑level prompts in Indonesian, apply structured guidelines to classify prompts, flag adversarial phrasing, and document the reasoning behind your judgments.

You will evaluate and strengthen how AI models handle sensitive topics in Indonesian, and work independently to meet deadlines while contributing to safer, more reliable AI systems.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Indonesian.
• Business‑level written English.
• Bachelor's degree, completed or in progress.

Position: Bilingual Indonesian Generalist Expert - AI Safety

Type: Contract

Compensation: $18-22/hour

Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

• Write expert-level prompts in Indonesian across a range of sensitive subject areas.
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
• Flag adversarial phrasings and escalation patterns. Document the reasoning behind your judgments.
• Evaluate and strengthen how AI models handle sensitive topics in Indonesian .
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance .

Qualifications Must-Have

• Native or near-native fluency in Indonesian . Business-level written English .
• A Bachelor's degree , completed or in progress.
• Strong written reasoning and a high level of attention to detail.
• Sound judgment around sensitive and dual-use information.

Preferred

• Based in Indonesia or the wider Southeast Asia region.
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming written or technical content.
• Background in trust and safety, content moderation, policy evaluation, or adversarial testing.
