Job summary

Space Executive is seeking a senior operations leader to take charge of a flagship integrated township project in Batam, Indonesia. You will oversee the full spectrum of construction and development activities, coordinating with main contractors, consultants and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in construction and project management.
• Proven track record managing large-scale integrated or mixed-use developments.
• Indonesia or Southeast Asia experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive on-the-ground execution across multiple concurrent development components, ensuring delivery milestones, quality standards and cost targets are met.
• Manage main contractors, consultants and architects from a developer's perspective — hands-on involvement in tendering, contracting and construction package management.
• Liaise with local authorities on regulatory approvals and permitting
• Establish and maintain robust programme governance across all active and upcoming project components
• Coordinate closely with Singapore HQ and report directly to the Group CEO on project progress, risks and strategic decisions
• Build and lead a high-calibre local team capable of delivering a hospitality-grade integrated development

Job description

A well-established Singapore-listed real estate developer with an expanding footprint across Southeast Asia is looking for a senior operations leader to take charge of its flagship integrated township project in Batam, Indonesia. This is a rare opportunity to join as the most senior person on the ground in Indonesia, reporting directly to the Group CEO. You will play a pivotal role in driving the delivery of a large-scale and high-end integrated development.

The Role

You will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of construction and development activities across all project components, coordinating closely with main contractors, consultants, architects and regulatory authorities. You will lead a ground team of approximately 40 staff across functions including Finance, Architecture, Cost & Contract and Project Management, and work in close collaboration with the Singapore headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive on-the-ground execution across multiple concurrent development components, ensuring delivery milestones, quality standards and cost targets are met
• Manage main contractors, consultants and architects from a developer's perspective — hands‑on involvement in tendering, contracting and construction package management
• Liaise with local authorities on regulatory approvals and permitting
• Establish and maintain robust programme governance across all active and upcoming project components
• Coordinate closely with Singapore HQ and report directly to the Group CEO on project progress, risks and strategic decisions
• Build and lead a high‑calibre local team capable of delivering a hospitality‑grade integrated development

Who They Are Looking For

• 10+ years of experience in construction and project management, with strong hands‑on developer-side experience
• Proven track record managing large-scale integrated or mixed‑use developments, ideally in Indonesia or Southeast Asia
• Civil or structural engineering background preferred - someone who has come up through the technical ranks and remains close to execution
• Experience coordinating across multiple concurrent project components with strong phasing, scheduling and contractor management capabilities
• Familiar with Indonesian regulatory and permitting environment; existing relationships with local authorities and contractors in the region is a plus
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage up to Group CEO level and down to site level
