Assistant Manager, Quality (Tobacco - Batam Placement)

The role requires support and oversight of the Company’s Quality objectives and functions. You will be working directly alongside manufacturing personnel to introduce work instructions, provide training and support at every level of manufacturing.

Responsibility:

Quality Assurance:

Execute quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with quality standards, regulations, and specifications.

Performs inspections, audits, and checks at various stages of the production process.

Verify adherence to approved procedures, work instructions, and quality control plans.

Quality Control:

Conduct tests, measurements, and evaluations on raw materials, components, and finished products.

Utilize appropriate tools and equipment to perform accurate quality control assessments.

Document and communicate test results, deviations, and non-conformances.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality control records, including test reports, inspection findings, and quality data.

Assist in the preparation and maintenance of quality documentation, such as standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

Organize and archive quality records in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Non-Conformance Management:

Identify and report non-conformances, deviations, and quality issues.

Participate in investigations to determine root causes and contribute to corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans.

Assist in the implementation and tracking of CAPA activities.

Supplier Quality Management:

Participate in supplier evaluation and qualification processes.

Collaborate with procurement and supplier management teams to ensure supplier quality requirements are met.

Conduct supplier audits and assessments as required.

Issue NCM for material non-confirmation and follow up on supplier’s CAPA until closure of NCM.

Communication and Collaboration:

Communicate quality-related information and updates to relevant stakeholders.

Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to address quality concerns and drive improvements.

Provide support and guidance to production teams regarding quality control procedures and requirements.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.

Support the development and implementation of quality-related training programs.

Project Trial Management:

Work closely with respective stakeholders on the project trial and ensuring the objectives are met.

Preparing and executing Quality Plan for each project trial.

Plan and manage the quality aspect in terms of compiling quality data, lab data, and sensory.

Requirements:

It will be good to have someone from Cigarette Industry with basic knowledge of whole process from PMD to Secondary.

Must be knowledgeable at application of Statistics, Problem solving skills.

Master in Problems solving tools, understanding of key concepts of Six Sigma / 8D /FMEA processes is added advantage.

Is a critical thinker who proactively works to improve the Quality systems of the company through Internal Audits, participation in Process Improvement programs, and interaction with key stakeholders to obtain constructive feedback.

Have Good Leadership & Experiences to Manage Team above 30–40-member crew.

Understand Overall Process in Tobacco Industry, including Incoming NTM & Tobacco, Primary & Secondary Process, Primary & Secondary QA Process, CI Lab etc.

Have Troubleshooting Capabilities to Solve Internal & External Issues with good Problem-solving capabilities and knowledge to drive Improvement actions, able to conduct audits.
