Job description
Area Process Engineer

KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for an Area Process Engineer to support the Abadi LNG project, one of the largest projects in Asia. This project will provide front‑end design (FEED) for onshore liquefied natural gas facilities and will have peak production capacity targets of 9.5 million tons per annum of LNG and 150 million standard cubic feet per day of pipeline gas. The Abadi LNG project has been designated a project of national strategic importance by the Indonesian government.

The Area Process Engineer will conduct process engineering and design, process configuration and optimization studies for the project.

Responsibilities
  • Perform process simulations, prepare process/utility flow diagrams, heat & material balance, utility balances
  • Create piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Develop process equipment datasheets & instrument datasheets
  • Conduct relief & blowdown studies, analyze relief load scenarios & calculate flare network requirements
  • Perform process calculations for equipment sizing, line hydraulics & others
  • Create process design philosophies & operating guides
  • Collaborate on concept studies, feasibility reports, front‑end engineering design (FEED) & detailed design projects
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience, with an average of 10+ years in the oil & gas industry
  • Strong background with LNG terminal projects
  • Leadership experience in managing process teams for hydrocarbon projects
  • In‑depth understanding of process design, heat and material balance, and P&IDs
  • Lead Engineer experience preferred
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards, software and tools
