Job summary

Monee, a leading digital payments and financial services provider in Southeast Asia, seeks an experienced Appointed Actuary to manage reserving, capital, reinsurance, pricing and regulatory reporting. You will communicate insights to regional stakeholders and collaborate with business, underwriting, risk and claims teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in a life insurer, FSAI certification (and preferably additional actuarial credentials), and strong skills in IFRS17, Excel, Python, R, and

Qualifications

• FSAI certified
• Ideally hold another actuarial qualification (SOA, FIA, FIAA)
• 5+ years of actuarial experience in a life insurer
• Strong understanding of local insurance market incl. pricing and product development
• Experience in IFRS17 and actuarial software
• Proven communication and analytical skills

Job Description

• Carry out Appointed Actuary duties in reserving, capital management, reinsurance, pricing, monitoring and regulatory reporting
• Comply with regional and local statutory reporting requirements
• Communicate and present regular actuarial and business insights to local and regional stakeholder
• Develop strong relationship with other departments such as business development, underwriting, risk and claims

Requirements

• FSAI certified
• Ideally qualification with another recognized actuarial body as well (SOA, FIA, FIAA)
• 5+ years of actuarial experience in a life insurer
• Extensive understanding of local insurance product market, including pricing and actuarial product development
• Thorough experience in insurance reserving, pricing, and capital management
• Robust understanding of local regulatory requirements, particularly from an actuarial perspective
• Ideally have management and leadership experience in an actuarial capacity
• Have understanding and practical experience in IFRS17
• Strong experience in Excel, Python, and R
• Strong experience in actuarial software such as Prophet
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
