Job summary

The Parentinc, a fast-growing parent-tech company, is seeking an Android Developer to design and deliver high-quality Android apps. You will work with cross-functional teams across product, data, and DevOps to ship reliable mobile experiences.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in Android, Kotlin/Java, MVVM architecture, and strong API integration. Familiarity with CI/CD, testing, and modern Android tooling is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years in the Mobile technology stack.
• Proficient in English communication and collaboration.

Qualifications Technology:

Must have

• Extensive experience developing Android apps with Android SDK, Kotlin, Java.
• Solid understanding of Android architecture components like Livedata, LifeCycles, ViewModel, Databinding, WorkManager, Paging etc.
• Building reusable and adaptable UI components using Google Material design guidelines.
• Local database management using SQLite, RoomDB for offline support.
• Writing clean and highly efficient code using Clean architecture and design patterns like MVVM, MVP.
• Experience with outside data sources, third party APIs and libraries like Glide, Picasso, Retrofit. JSON parsing libraries like Gson, Moshi etc.
• Working knowledge of GIT version control and repository clients like Github, Gitlab, Bitbucket.
• Good debugging skills and tracing the root cause of the issues on production.

Good to Have

• Knowledge of Monolithic and modular architecture.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks like Junit, Mockito, Espresso.
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Firebase ecosystem
• Experience with iOS, KMM, flutter framework.
• Knowledge of analytics and data tracking.
• Support for entire application lifecycle ie. concept, design, development, test, release and support.
• Ability to manage your workload with minimal supervision.
• Problem solving skills and Top-notch teamwork with great communication skills.

Other Qualifications:

Must have

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years in the Mobile technology stack
• Expertise in Confluence or equivalent tools to streamline the organization's collaboration, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments, with a focus on iterative development.
• Proficient in English communication, facilitating collaboration and documentation.

Good to Have

• Have published one or more Android apps in the Google Play store.
• Familiarity with Jira for project management.
• Strong analytical skills in troubleshooting and resolving issues in a TDD environment.
