Job summary

Eaton in Batam, Indonesia, is seeking a Product Design Engineer to provide 3D modeling and drafting support for EST and FC Asia projects. You will sustain design integrity across production and customer support, conducting first article inspections and supporting reverse engineering data collection.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical Design or Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years in design engineering, and strong CAD skills (Catia/Pro-E).

Qualifications

• Degree in Aeronautical/ Mechanical Design/ Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in mechanical design for Aerospace is preferred, but other industry like Automotive/vehicle are welcome to apply.
• At least 3 year experience in Design Engineering environment.
• Troubleshooting skills for product and tooling related issues.
• Capable of adhering to process procedure and comfortable working within a structured engineering document control system.
• Proficiency in computer aided design and Solid Modeling. Experience in Catia, Pro-E or equivalent Solid Modeling design tool.
• Sound command of written & spoken English
• Must be able to work with little or no supervision and be a self-motivated individual.
• Display Initiative and willingness to learn new disciplines and accept responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design, 3D Modeling and Drafting services in support of the EST team charter.
• Design and drafting (solid modeling and detailing) support for engineering projects initiated by fluid conveyance sites (outside of Asia).
• Design and drafting support for FC Asia product development and production support projects.
• Responsible for sustaining the design integrity of the product and tooling design including production and customer support efforts.
• Product verification through administration of First Article Inspections (FAI).
• Data collection and reporting in support of the reverse engineering process.
