Job summary

PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk. seeks an organized Accounting Specialist to lead financial reporting and review staff work. You will reconcile balance sheets, prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports, and ensure accuracy under PSAK/IFRS standards.

Qualified candidates bring 4–6 years in accounting or auditing, strong PSAK/IFRS and Indonesian tax knowledge, ERP and Excel proficiency, and the ability to work autonomously and within a team to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–6 years of accounting or auditing experience.
• Strong knowledge of PSAK, IFRS, and Indonesian tax regulations.
• Proficient in ERP systems (Pronto, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Experience in month-end and year-end closing, and preparing financial reports for management.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for financial reporting and review Accounting staff work.
• Perform periodic reconciliation of balance sheet accounts (bank, advances, AR, AP, inventory, fixed assets).
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (BS, P&L, TB, GL) per PSAK/IFRS.
• Manage monthly and annual closing processes with deadlines.
• Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for reporting.
• Review journal entries before posting.
• Coordinate with Cost Control and Operations on cost data.
• Support cost reports and management analysis.
• Act as PIC for external and internal audits and provide required data.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team.

1. Take overall responsibility for financial reporting and act as the reviewer of the Accounting staff's work.
2. Perform periodic reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, advances, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, fixed assets, and other relevant accounts.
3. Prepare and ensure the accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement (BSPL), Trial Balance (TB), and General Ledger (GL), in accordance with applicable accounting standards (PSAK/IFRS).
4. Manage the monthly and annual closing processes accurately and within the required deadlines.
5. Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for financial reporting and accounting activities.
6. Review journal entries prepared by Accounting staff prior to posting.
7. Coordinate with the Cost Control and Operations teams regarding production and operational cost data.
8. Support the preparation of cost reports and analysis for management purposes.
9. Act as the PIC, together with the team, for external and internal audit processes.
10. Prepare the data, documents, and explanations required by auditors.
11. Ensure that internal controls are properly implemented and operating effectively
12. Coordinate with AP, AR, Treasury, Tax, and Procurement teams regarding financial transactions and related accounting matters.
13. Guide and direct Accounting staff in their day-to-day activities.
14. Review and perform quality checks on the team's work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
15. Provide feedback and coaching to support team members' development.
16. Support the development and improvement of SOPs and work processes within the Accounting team.
    

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 4-6 years of work experience in accounting or auditing, preferably in a manufacturing company or Public Accounting Firm.
2. Strong knowledge of PSAK, IFRS, and Indonesian tax regulations.
3. Proficient in ERP systems (Pronto, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel.
4. Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
5. Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a team.
6. Experience in handling month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of financial reports for management and group reporting purposes.
7. Knowledge of consolidation reporting and experience coordinating with group entities would be an advantage.
