We’re seeking a detail orientated Accountant / Bookkeeper to help our client, a CFO Finance Consultancy in New Zealand. In this remote position, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the consultancy’s clients by ensuring accurate accounting records and work directly with the CFO. If you have a passion for numbers and eager to learn about financial reporting, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial statements on a monthly and annual basis (Monthly Cost Accrual Management and Financial Reports)
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Manage payroll (fortnightly), bank reconciliations and cashflow management
  • Assist with tax preparation and planning, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (GST and PAYE)
  • Track and manage budgets, reporting any discrepancies or issues
  • Provide reports and insights to management regarding financial performance
  • Utilise Xero software (integration with 3rd party apps) to streamline operations and maintain organised records

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Accountant or Bookkeeper
  • Expert proficiency in accounting software Microsoft Excel and Xero
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, be proactive and maintain confidentiality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Access to your own computer/laptop and a reliable internet connection
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Availability to work during NZ hours remotely
Nice to Have
  • Marketing Agency and/or FMCG Bookkeeping experience
  • Shopify and/or Afterpay Xero Integration experience
