Job summary

Vitus Lawyers in Hong Kong is inviting applications for a Trainee Solicitor to gain exposure across civil and criminal litigation and commercial matters. The firm provides solid training in both contentious and non-contentious work, with a supportive learning environment.

Training will cover civil litigation disciplines, including commercial, company, trust, probate, IP, and other areas, along with criminal litigation from magistrate to CFA.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn across civil, criminal litigation and commercial matters.
• Training provided in both contentious and non-contentious matters.
• Prior exposure to litigation is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in civil & criminal litigation and commercial matters.
• Support partners and solicitors with case management and document preparation.
• Attend hearings, filings, and client meetings as required.

Civil litigation: commercial, company, trust & probate, lands, adverse possession, personal injury, medical & professional negligence, Employees Compensation, defamation, intellectual property, family & matrimonial, construction, tenancy, building management, winding up & bankruptcy, professional disciplinary, etc.

Criminal Litigation: from magistrate to CFA cases, cases with police, ICAC, C&E, Immigration, Housing Department, Building Authority, etc, on all kinds of cases, including, fraud, money laundering, indecent assault, dangerous drug, bodily harm, bribery, theft, robbery, burglary, copyright, trade description, forge, blackmail, etc.

Non-contentious: articles of association with shareholders agreement, general company matters, agreements for joint venture and investment, intellectual property protection applications, tenancy, wills and probate, etc.
