Job summary

Global Sports Jobs Limited is seeking a capable trainee for the Racing Division in Hong Kong to assist with track maintenance planning, raceday operations, and related support. The role involves hands-on development in track maintenance, machinery operation, and data collection for track and turf studies.

The candidate should possess a diploma or degree in related disciplines, be fluent in English and Chinese, and be prepared to work long hours in outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• English and Chinese proficiency in written and spoken form.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to undertake rotational trainings and work in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing maintenance programmes for tracks and fringe areas.
• Assist in raceday operations, including surface preparation and going inspections.
• Develop practical skills in track maintenance, machinery operation, track assessment, sampling techniques and SOPs.
• Monitor quality of maintenance works and track conditions against standards.
• Learn occupational safety and health standards and chemical applications in track maintenance.
• Assist in supervising frontline operational staff and ensure safety compliance.
• Perform administrative and clerical support.
• Support project management, research and data collection for track and turf studies.
• Support contingency and emergency operations as required.
